Richardson Milling, a division of Richardson International, is one of the leading oat millers in the world and the largest oat miller in North America. Richardson has recently undergone a significant capital expansion at its UK Oat Milling facility and is seeking to expand its domestic and international sales teams in its oat milling and food and ingredients divisions.
We currently have an opportunity for a Manager, International Sales position at our Bedford location. This role is responsible for executing the oat milling and food & ingredients sales strategy for global markets. This position plays a critical role in building and maintaining strong relationships with existing international customers while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across the portfolio of food ingredients within the assigned regions.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and secure new oat milling business opportunities, including potential customers, partnerships, and distribution channels.
2. Identify and secure new ingredients business opportunities across all product lines in oat milling and malting.
3. Act as primary contact for major accounts, maintain strong relationships, address needs, resolve issues to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
4. Identify and pursue opportunities to upsell and cross-sell oat milling and malt ingredients products.
5. Assist in development and implementation of the sales strategy to the assigned markets, aiming to achieve budgeted sales and growth targets.
6. Track and analyse sales performance metrics, market trends, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions within the assigned markets.
7. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations specific to the assigned markets.
8. Liaise with customers and product innovation team on new product development. Develop proposals and presentations tailored to the assigned markets.
Experience & Education/Training:
1. Degree in business, marketing, food science or related field.
2. Minimum 5 years progressive sales and account management experience.
3. A valid driver’s license is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Demonstrated experience in the food processing industry and commodity markets specific to the assigned market.
2. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, capable of developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
4. Self-motivated, results-oriented with demonstrated ability to achieve targets and drive revenue growth. High-level business acumen, with the ability to understand and navigate complex business environments.
5. Demonstrated fluency in English and additional languages (European, Asian, and African-based languages preferred) to effectively communicate and engage with a diverse client base.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Valid passport with the ability to travel within the UK, EU and assigned international markets.
