How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:
As a Y Fitness Coach, you’ll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. You will circulate throughout the wellness center and provide supervision and instruction to Y members by listening actively, strengthening relationships, and promoting healthy living. You will facilitate fitness appointments and will engage members in the usage of the Y facility and at member events. You will be responsible for assisting in membership development and retention through quality leadership and continuous follow-through with Y member engagement. As a Y Fitness Coach, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance, and belonging.
This work is right for you if you have:
1. A love of fitness and people
2. A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness
3. Prior customer service or fitness experience
4. The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
5. The ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
