Scope You will be a part of the testing of microwave payloads and equipment for various applications, including GEO, LEO, Science, and Defence. This role involves working in the Microwave Laboratory and requires expertise in RF procedures, ground support equipment (GSE) development, and data processing. You will work in clean room and anechoic chamber environments, contributing to critical aerospace and defence projects. Role The Payload Test Engineer will be responsible for the testing and validation of microwave payloads and RF systems for space applications, ensuring they meet the required technical standards and performance criteria. Responsibilities Define and develop test methods and RF setups for microwave payloads. Specify, design, and procure ground support equipment (GSE). Validate GSE and test setups to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Prepare and release RF test procedures and activities. Execute test procedures and perform post-processing of test results. Prepare and format comprehensive test reports, including anomaly and investigation reports when applicable. Document lessons learned and provide feedback for continuous improvement in safety, quality, planning, and cost. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. Required Experience Proven experience in testing space equipment and instruments including microwave payloads. Familiarity with technical documentation and quality/safety requirements in aerospace engineering. Previous involvement in the specification, design, and procurement of ground support equipment. Experience in executing and documenting test procedures and results in a structured manner. Experience working in lab/AIT and clean room environments. Required Skills Strong understanding of RF/antenna principles and RF test equipment (e.g., Spectrum Analysers, Vector Network Analysers). Proficiency in data processing tools such as Excel, MATLAB, and Python. Ability to work autonomously while also demonstrating strong team spirit. Effective communication skills in English (intermediate level) and/or French, depending on the programme requirements.
