SEND Teaching Assistant – All Age Ranges

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a large SEND school in St Helen's. The school caters to both primary and secondary-aged students with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience supporting children with SEND, and there are opportunities for both full-time and part-time positions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with complex needs, including ASD.
2. Assist with the delivery of personalised learning programmes to meet the individual needs of students.
3. Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
4. Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional development.
5. Work closely with teachers and other staff to ensure students are progressing academically and socially.
6. Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress.
7. Support students with personal care needs where required.
Essential Requirements:
1. Experience working with students with SEND, particularly those with complex needs and Autism.
2. A compassionate and patient approach to working with children with additional needs.
3. Ability to manage challenging behaviours and support emotional development.
4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
5. A proactive approach to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
6. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
7. An enhanced DBS on the update service.
