We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Specialised Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and welcoming school in Swadlincote. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with SEN. This full-time, long-term position has the potential to transition into a permanent role.
In this role, you will provide personalised support to students with diverse needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your work will be instrumental in helping students achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of tailored learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide compassionate support with personal care and daily routines, ensuring students feel respected and safe.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, social interaction, and personal development.
- Monitor and record student progress, contributing to their individual growth and success.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASD and ADHD.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children with complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible attitude, with a genuine commitment to supporting children's development.
