Part time, 14 hours a week. Working a mix of evening and weekend shifts, will include working bank holidays.

Safe Haven is a mental health crisis intervention service which provides telephone, email, or face to face support and a “safe space” to adults with mental health diagnosis during evenings and weekends.
Our aims are to understand why someone is at crisis point and work with them to take steps to reduce the crisis and reduce the need for emergency intervention.

Day in the life of a Mental Health Recovery Worker :
1. You will greet, assess and provide person centered support to all individuals accessing the service
2. You will record and maintain client records, ensuring risk assessments and safety plans are detailed and accurate
3. You will be effective in de-escalating difficult situations, ensuring that you adhere to all lone working and safeguarding policies
4. In order to signpost clients effectively, you will have good knowledge of partner agencies and additional services to support people in the community to manage their mental health
5. Help to maintain a welcoming, safe environment, identifying and minimising all potential risks to users of the premises and the organisation and property
6. Work in accordance with the Health and Safety regulations and all policies and procedures
7. You will be able to work within a team environment, but also use your own initiative to escalate to appropriate services when required
8. Attend supervision, appraisal, training and meetings as directed which may be outside your normal working pattern
9. Work flexibly across all areas of operation where required and prior notice given
10. Any other reasonable task as requested by a member of staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Previous experience in this type of work is not essential but you will have a real passion for wanting to work within a Mental Health Service. Your values will match ours, you will be committed to helping others and enjoy the real job satisfaction that this brings.
