Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RGN) at St David's Nursing Home, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care during the night shift. You will work closely with the care team to ensure that each resident receives person-centred care, meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs. This is a hands-on role, providing leadership, assessment, and nursing care to residents during the night, while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
* Clinical Care: Provide high-quality nursing care, ensuring that care plans are tailored to meet individual residents' needs. Conduct assessments, deliver treatments, and manage chronic conditions.
* Medication Administration: Safely administer medications as prescribed and monitor their effects. Maintain accurate records in line with the nursing care standards.
* Monitoring & Assessment: Continuously monitor residents’ health, assess their condition, and report any changes or concerns to the senior management team.
* Care Coordination: Liaise with other healthcare professionals, families, and carers to ensure continuity of care and provide regular updates on residents’ conditions.
* Team Leadership: Supervise and support care assistants and junior staff, ensuring they are delivering care to the highest standard under your guidance.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation on residents' care, health status, and any incidents. Provide clear handovers to the day team.
* Compliance: Ensure that all nursing care is in line with CQC regulations, company policies, and best practices. Participate in audits and quality assurance checks.
Skills & Experience:
* Registered Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC PIN.
* Previous experience in a nursing or healthcare setting, ideally in a care home or residential nursing home.
* Strong clinical skills and a passion for delivering person-centred care.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Understanding of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
* Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to providing the best possible care.
