NHS Lothian Pharmacy & Medicines Service
Staff Bank
Band 6 Pharmacist
Band 6 - £39,912 - £48,635 pro rata
NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian, and West Lothian. We are the second largest health system in NHS Scotland and one of only four teaching Boards. We serve a population of 900,000, providing a range of Primary, Community Based and Acute Hospital Services.
The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines Service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian get the best from their medicines and pharmacy services. We are focused on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop and make best use of their skills.
We are recruiting highly motivated, enthusiastic, and professional Pharmacists who are able to work on an ad-hoc, flexible basis to join our pharmacy team. Short and long-term opportunities are available.
You’ll work with our teams to provide high quality care in a number of settings such as acute, mental health, community hospitals or primary care based within GP practices. You may also have the chance to support project work. The diversity of services covered provides an ideal environment for you to consolidate your experience and gain new knowledge and skills and is often a route into permanent employment.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree (M.Pharm), or equivalent, and will be required to evidence registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Work is offered on an 'as and when required basis' with different shift patterns available to suit flexible working. There are no guarantees of a fixed number of hours each week as this is a demand led service.
The staff bank centrally co-ordinates bank shifts for services across NHS Lothian through an electronic online booking system allowing bank workers to view and book their shifts through a computer or mobile device.
Please note that if all required information is not provided, we will not be able to progress your application and a new submission will have to be made by you at a later date. Applications are processed on a regular basis and all communication will be sent by email.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from those who require sponsorship as this is not offered due to the nature of bank work. Please contact natalie.mcintosh@nhs.scot for any other informal enquiries via email.
