The Impact You’ll Make:
As Content & Communications Manager, you will be the driving force behind our digital presence. You will lead the development and implementation of our content and communications strategies, optimising our website, app, and social media channels to drive audience growth and commercial returns.
This is a hands-on role, which will blend strategic planning with content creation and delivery. New to the business, this would suit someone who is a proactive problem solver and ready to take the Club’s content and communications output to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for optimising use of the club’s digital channels, including social media, website and app.
* Developing the Club’s content and social media strategy to deliver significant audience growth, aligning with wider objectives to drive commercial returns.
* Lead the creative process, working across departments to create engaging content, which tells the Club’s story.
* Actively engage in creating content; this role will require an element of content creation, as well as directing team members, freelancers and agencies.
* Align social channels with overall marketing strategy, amplifying key sales messages and supporting the marketing team to deliver effective paid digital campaigns.
* Critically evaluate and report on effectiveness of campaigns and channel plans to evidence value and inform future strategies.
* Maximising press coverage by securing regional, national and international coverage which tells Club stories and builds brand value.
* Managing media relationships, including match day media operations.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential Skills/Experience:
* 4+ years working in a similar role, with evidence of channel management and delivery of significant audience growth.
* Commercial mindset, with experience creating authentic content plans and campaigns which align with wider organisational strategy.
* Collaboration with brands to deliver mutually beneficial audience growth and enhance value of commercial partnerships.
* Community management and engagement, using appropriate tone of voice to interact effectively with the online community.
* Creative approach, with commitment to innovation and a demonstrable track record of making ideas a reality.
* Proficient content creator with experience using a range of editing tools.
* Understanding of all major social media platforms with experience creating channel by channel plans to effectively tailor content.
* Use of social media analytics tools to measure and report on effectiveness of campaigns against agreed KPIs.
* Relentlessly enthusiastic and able to overcome challenges independently.
* Exceptional communicator with experience managing individuals and freelancers to deliver defined goals.
* A flexible approach to working hours, which will include working some weekends and evenings during the summer (to cover match days).
Desirable Skills:
* Previous knowledge working in a professional sports or talent role.
* Experience delivering successful paid media campaigns and writing for SEO.
* Experience writing press releases and managing media relationships.
* Interest or knowledge in sports, particularly cricket.
* Educated to at least degree level, or equivalent experience.
