Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including plant care, inventory management, and customer service.
2. Supervise and train nursery staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about plants, customer service, and nursery policies.
3. Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
4. Maintain a clean and organized nursery environment.
5. Monitor plant health and implement pest control measures as needed.
6. Assist customers with plant selection, provide gardening advice, and answer any questions or concerns.
7. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of plants and materials.
8. Manage the nursery's budget, including tracking expenses and revenue.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new plant varieties.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a nursery or garden center management role is preferred.
2. Strong knowledge of plants, including their care requirements, common pests, and diseases.
3. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist customers in plant selection and provide gardening advice.
4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise staff effectively.
5. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and maintain a clean and organized nursery environment.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours during peak seasons.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £31,000.00-£32,556.00 per year
