Job Title: EAP Triage Counsellor Reports to: EAP Case Manager Division: MCL Medics EAP Location: Martin House, Southport (Remote with occasional visits to office) Hours: Full time (0830 - 1700, Monday to Friday) Salary: From £25,000 (DOE) MCL Medics, have an exciting role for a full time BACP/UKCP/NCS registered Level 4 counsellor to join our busy Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) triage team. With flexible office and home working options available (to be discussed at interview), we are looking for a triage counsellor to join our EAP team. This is a permanent position. As an EAP triage counsellor, you will be working to assess and support clients when they email us, call us, or book through our EAP app to access their employee assistance program. You will be confident, calm and compassionate, helping to identify and understand the presenting issue of the client, and to signpost effectively to the correct services which includes legal, financial and mental health support. Comfortable on the telephone, you will have multiple appointments a day with our clients, you will clinically assess, take notes and manage any ongoing referrals in liaison with the core EAP team. In addition to conducting triage sessions for our clients, part of your role is to respond to the service and support the wider team where necessary. As you grow in the role, you will also be involved in team wide projects which includes areas such as mental health content development, writing resources and delivering webinars and group sessions. Your role will include providing in the moment counselling to a diverse range of clients using a brief solution focused model. You will be providing therapeutic accountability sessions alongside computerised CBT to support clients to complete their online course. Your role is an important part of supporting the business to manage client cases with confidence, utilising data protection and excellent records management. Core Competencies Recognised UK counselling qualification (level 4 or above) Registration of a professional body is essential including BACP, UKCP, NCS, BABCP or equivalent. Minimum post-qualifying counselling experience, with a minimum of 100 client hours. Must have a suitable, dedicated counselling room that is separate from living areas (when working from home). Prior experience of EAP is desirable but not essential. Excellent IT skills working with case management systems, Word, and Excel.
