Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer’s representative (sister)
Hours: Day time hours that need to be covered are:
7am – 10.30pm (Monday – Sunday)
Various shifts available that can be discussed at interview stage
Hourly Rate of Pay: £13.75 per hour
Based at: Employers own home in Shrewsbury.
Job Purpose
To work with a man one to one who has a spinal injury. The man lives in Shrewsbury, his home has been special adapted to meet his needs with a tracking hoist and a lift. The gentleman has a great sense of humour, enjoys spending time with people and is close to his family, especially his sisters. The main purpose of the job is to support the gentleman with all his daily living tasks, personal care, social care and be a friendly companion to him.
Main duties
To assist with drinks and give medication.
To support with light household duties e.g. cleaning / changing the bed.
Support with mealtime, cooking and preparing meals.
Support the gentleman on days out / day trips e.g. football, seaside, shopping trips.
Support with all personal care tasks and transferring in and out of wheelchair / bed.
To learn how to empty night bags and stoma bag.
To learn how to turn and reposition him.
To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

The post carries a 6 months probationary period.
