Theatre Team Leader - H&N and Plastic Surgery

We have an exciting opportunity to expand and develop our Theatre leadership team, to provide strong leadership within our Theatre teams.
We are looking for an enthusiastic registered nurse or operating department practitioner with a passion for the Head & Neck and Plastic Surgery speciality who will be dedicated to developing our service.
Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standard of patient care.
Ensuring effective use of budget and resource to maintain an effective service and meet theatre utilisation targets.
There may be an element of cross site working required to meet the service needs.
Fixed Term - 9 months maternity cover

Main duties of the job
Have continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the department/team, providing management and professional leadership for the theatre/PACU team.
Have the responsibility for ensuring the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care are maintained to a high standard.
Hold the management responsibility for the administrative and financial aspects of the ward/department.
Will ensure cost effective use of resources.
Is the champion of and role model for the team to ensure that the highest professional standards are upheld in their ward/department.
Will work in partnership with the Theatre & PACU lead and facilities and is personally responsible for ensuring high standards of hospital cleanliness are maintained on their ward/department and meet the standards required.
Will utilise outcome measures and patient experience feedback to influence improvements in the quality and safety of patient care at ward/department level.

Person Specification
Experience and Knowledge
* At least 3 years post registration experience in a Theatre or Post Anaesthetic Care Unit.
* At least 18 months Band 6 experience in a Theatre or Post Anaesthetic Care setting.
* Working with a wide range of professionals.
* Awareness of current issues in Health Care Standards of Professional Practice.
* Insight into clinical specialty, current professional issues.
* Knowledge of policies relating to the management of people.
* Experience in the writing of rotas.
* Experience in investigating DATIX/Complaints.
* Budget management.
Qualifications and Training
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Level 1) OR Registered Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration.
* Recognised teaching certificate or equivalent experience.
* Educated to degree level evidence of CPD relevant to current role.
* Willing to undergo training as necessary to undertake role.
