The role
As a Radioactive Waste Lead you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be providing leadership of the Radioactive Waste Management and Environmental Capability through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience.
Day-to-day, you'll be a recognised expert within our organisation, this role draws upon comprehensive knowledge and a deep understanding of radioactive waste management and environmental solutions to apply expertise to complex and challenging assignments in the nuclear sector, leading teams to develop innovative solutions and recommendations for improvement. This role has scope and influence extending across the organisation and sets direction for the management and growth of the Waste and Environmental Capability within Cavendish Nuclear and its relationships with partner organisations and associates.
* Develop the Waste and Environmental Capability to be industry leading in line with Cavendish Nuclear strategy and growth plans.
* Develop excellent collaborative client relationships.
* Take an active role in appropriate professional networks on behalf of Cavendish Nuclear.
* Lead the development and implementation of capability strategies and plans.
* Be responsible for the career development of waste and environmental specialists.
* Manage resource supply to meet near-term and strategic demand.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/onsite and two days working from home.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Radioactive Waste Lead
* Demonstrable experience in the nuclear sector, with significant radioactive waste management experience proven over several years.
* Proven experience in supporting projects throughout the service lifecycle.
* Experience of building and line managing technical teams.
* Excellent knowledge of an established network within the radioactive waste sector.
Qualifications for the Radioactive Waste Lead
* Degree (or similar/equivalent qualification) in relevant technical (engineering or science) discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (SC) security clearance for this role.
