WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a fantastic opportunity for the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our JLR Global Manufacturing Engineering - Propulsion department and support delivery of Electronic Drive Unit Assembly programmes.
As Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will manage a small-medium size team and supervise the design, procurement, installation, and handover of facilities and processes for the duration of the program, which includes Start to Job 1 + 90 days. Work together with product engineering to facilitate efficient change management and guarantee that new product engineering designs are ready for production.
You will lead global unit projects in the present footprints in China, India, and the United Kingdom to ensure that unit programs are completed on schedule and under budget. You will effectively interface with all related functions like product engineering, procurement, manufacturing operations, and manufacturing partners.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1. Guarantee an accurate CPU, robust process planning that incorporates FMEA, control plans, and the use of industrial engineering tools and procedures.
2. Establish the best quality procedure in place.
3. Mentor others in providing lean solutions.
4. Create and track schedules for design, installation, and retooling projects.
5. Set and achieve goals for equipment capability and capacity, such as OEE, MTTR, and MTBF.
6. Handle technical problems (CCARs) and escalate them as needed.
7. Supervise the efficient management of suppliers of essential equipment, ensuring that the right cadence and connections are in place to guarantee successful delivery.
8. Conceptual facility planning, gateway cost estimation, and submission to support significant capital investment.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1. Minimum a HNC or degree qualification in an engineering, mathematics, science-based subject, or related technical field.
2. Previous experience leading electrification programme delivery.
3. Professional work experience of the Product Creation System and associated manufacturing deliverables.
4. Experience managing a project with cost, safety, performance, schedule metrics and effective communication skills.
5. Good understanding of safety processes and proven leadership for delivering safe manufacturing processes and facilities.
6. Knowledge of Integrated Production System, Quality Operating System, Global Study Process Allocation System audit compliance.
