We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to be accountable for the management and coordination of a portfolio of TrainCare Centre and infrastructure improvement projects that are being delivered to support transformational business change and achieve our long-term vision. This is an exciting opportunity, within our Infrastructure Change team where you will be responsible for successfully developing and delivering Northern’s business plan schemes and projects. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be the lead ensuring that you liaise with internal and external stakeholders so that all proposals are correctly scoped, developed, delivered and successfully entered into service. Key responsibilities: This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include: Being accountable for project delivery, maintaining transparency on issues, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to resolve any challenges affecting Northern. Clearly defining project requirements, adhering to industry standards, and supporting robust estimation and business case development. Working closely with stakeholders to identify and manage dependencies with delivery and operational activities, seeking opportunities for coordination and efficiency. Maintaining accurate cost schedules and project timelines, ensuring compliance with change control mechanisms and communicating any deviations to stakeholders. Managing contract interfaces, leading project meetings, and ensuring adherence to governance requirements, including safety, environment, procurement, and engineering assurance. About you: You will have demonstrable Project Management skills, ideally complemented by a related qualification and membership in a professional body. Your understanding of railway geography and organisational structures, particularly Network Rail, will be crucial. Additionally, you should have experience managing complex construction and property-related projects.
