Join us as a Senior Cloud Engineer as part of the Chief Technology Office involving multiple projects. You will be designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure for Data Engineering and Machine Learning technologies. You will advise our team on the best technical design and be able to resolve problems to optimize our environment for performance, security, and scalability.
To be successful as a Senior Cloud Engineer, you should have:
* Extensive cloud engineering experience in AWS.
* Software development lifecycle experience.
* Knowledge of working with code repositories.
* Proficiency in Python, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
* Data engineering with tools like Spark and Airflow.
* Experience or qualification in a secondary cloud environment (Azure/GCP).
This role will be based in our Glasgow campus, but our office in Knutsford can be considered.
Purpose of the Role
To build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required, with the aim of ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.

* Build Engineering: Development, delivery, and maintenance of high-quality infrastructure solutions to fulfill business requirements ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use.
* Incident Management: Monitoring of IT infrastructure and system performance to measure, identify, address, and resolve any potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages.
* Automation: Development and implementation of automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
* Security: Implementation of a secure configuration and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats.
* Teamwork: Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements and devise solutions.
* Learning: Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities.
