Finegreen are currently supporting a large health and social care organisation in the appointment of an senior qualified professional to lead a team and deliver a comprehensive and proactive health, safety and wellbeing strategy across the organisation.
Play a key part in ensuring a continuous safe and healthy environment for colleagues and wider persons supported by service provision, creating a positive learning and improvement culture for the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop and engage a team to deliver a proactive, safe and healthy working environment for colleagues across the organisation and to protect persons supported from harm;
Ensure resourcing, succession and development plans are in place, reviewed and action taken to mitigate risk or reduce people costs;
Develop the health, safety and wellbeing strategy for the organisation and ensure the effective implementation in order to enhance the environment for colleagues and persons supported, to mitigate risk and lead associated initiatives;
Develop and lead the implementation a robust safety culture, including associated policies and procedures, whilst developing mechanisms for assurance;
As the Responsible Person provide strategic and expert health and safety advice across the organisation to ensure organisational compliance with current and future external regulators and internal expectations;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR/Occupational Health and Wellbeing to develop and implement strategic projects and initiatives to enhance the wellbeing of colleagues and the people supported;
Drive a culture that creates the positive reporting of incidents and act as the functional lead on serious incidents and accident reporting internally and externally;
Promote the adoption of technology to create efficiencies or risk management effectiveness;
Display expert level knowledge and experience of regulation, risk, health and safety;
Essential Criteria:
Engaging leadership style with the ability to deliver organisational results through others;
High levels of interpersonal skills and ability to engage with multiple people both internally and externally;
Be a role model for change and improvement including building capability in others;
Relevant degree or professional qualification e.g NEBOSH/Membership of relevant professional body such as IOSH;
Experience managing and overseeing organisational health and safety reporting systems;
Proven track record of developing and implementing impactful health, safety and wellbeing strategies;
Experience delivering wellbeing interventions related to health and safety.
