There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Scotland West Division located in Hamilton is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join the Division’s Senior Management Team.
The Role
The role of Finance Manager involves assisting in the production of accurate and timely financial transactions and reports in addition to maintaining the business’s accounting records. The role will also involve providing support and direction to the rest of the finance team. The role will report directly to the Finance Director thereby assisting to drive the financial performance and position of the Division’s business and support the Managing Director in achieving the agreed business plan and sustainable, profitable growth.
Principal accountabilities of the Finance Manager role include:
1. Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts
2. Prepare monthly journals and account analysis
3. Prepare divisional reporting returns (VAT, CIS, Payroll)
4. Review and challenge proposed land acquisitions, including areas such as the financial assumptions and VAT
5. Secondary divisional contact for divisional HR, payroll, IT and fleet issues
6. Maintenance of KPI and analysis schedules
7. Oversight on the maintenance of house sales ledger including monthly sales reconciliation
8. Lead and manage the Divisional finance team
9. Initial contact for Finance queries or problems
10. Assist the Head of Finance/Finance Director to ensure compliance with the Group Accounting Manual
11. Provide cover for various duties within the department
12. Troubleshooting transactions and suggesting corrections
13. Perform cost analysis
14. Manage the interim and year end process with external auditors
15. Treasury management – ensuring monthly and daily cash flow forecasts for the division are accurate

Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
* Experience of working within a similar role will be preferred.
* Experience of working with accountancy software. Working knowledge of COINS is desirable.
Qualifications and Training
* CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified

* Excellent administration and organisation skills

* Strong management and time management skills
* Strong communication, listening and problem solving skills
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
* Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

* Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
