Role Overview The Risk Officer will report directly to one of the Risk Leads. In this role, you will be responsible for: Collaborating with risk owners and project/programme managers to manage risk mitigation activities in response to organisational and Portfolio risks. Facilitating the regular review of local and centralised risk registers throughout the organisation. Act as a Subject Matter Expert within the organisation for the promotion of best practice risk management. Support Risk Leads in delivering risk Providing support to risk owners on management of risk registers and risk mitigation actions. Managing data in analytical tools including MS Excel and organisational risk management systems. Producing data insights with spreadsheets and pivot tables. Collaborating with the organisation to ensure business continuity plans are in place and effective. Managing internal audit and incident data inputs, facilitating the resolution of themes and issues. Conducting thematic reviews of data for trends, themes, and emerging risks in the organisation. Maintaining and assisting in the implementation of internal audit report recommendations and findings. Providing input into Management and Board level reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Skills and Experience Required To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:Proven experience of risk management processes and practices in either first orsecond line Good facilitation, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills at all levels Ability to work collaboratively both within a small team and with colleagues across the organisation acting as a key change advocate for risk Strong proficiency with all standard MS Office applications, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel Ability to take a holistic view of the organisation, understanding how business drivers inform risk and opportunity management Ability to analyse complex data, identify insights, draw conclusions, produce reports and make recommendations to management Proven strong prioritisation, time management and planning skills Ability to proactively develop systems and processes to support the changing needs of the organisation Good understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model and risk appetite Experience of managing internal audit processes Desirable: Experience / understanding of public sector and or Government departments.
