We are seeking a skilled and committed HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join a Special School in Chelmsford. This full-time permanent role offers an opportunity for an experienced professional to make a positive impact in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
As an HLTA, you will provide high-quality support to students, working closely with teachers to lead small group activities and interventions. You will also be responsible for covering classes when necessary and helping to maintain a positive and structured learning environment. This position offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support to students in small group and one-to-one settings.
* Assist with planning and leading lessons, supporting the class teacher.
* Cover classes when needed, ensuring the continuity of learning.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and staff.
* Promote positive behaviour and create a nurturing environment for learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) is preferred.
* Strong understanding of SEN strategies and working with students in special schools.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* HLTA qualification or equivalent.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
