This role would suit a dynamic, qualified, and experienced Maintenance Electrician, or someone multi-skilled with electrical bias, looking for a fresh new challenge. Our client operates in the automotive, acoustic, audio, and construction markets. They have an established customer base, exporting goods all around the world. A business producing quality products for the UK and exporting globally. Operating as a manufacturing business that works within multiple sectors like: Architectural, Construction, Steel, and Automotive.
This role is based at their manufacturing facility site in Smethwick and will also give support to a second manufacturing facility in Oldbury as and when required.
What we need from you as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer:
1. 3+ years experience working as a maintenance electrician/engineer within the steel or automotive industry
2. City & Guilds or BTECH qualification in electrical installation or maintenance
3. Served a recognised apprenticeship
4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems & electrical maintenance practices
5. Working knowledge of PLCs for fault finding
6. Experienced in electrical fault finding and repairs
7. Qualified to carry out electrical installations to regulations
8. A strong understanding of safe systems of work
9. The ability to work safely under own supervision or as part of a team
10. Competent to use a CMMS on PC/Mobile
11. For multi-skilled, experience on mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic repairs & maintenance
Desirable:
1. Inspection & testing qualified (18th edition)
2. Experience of power press maintenance
3. Experience in the maintenance of sheet metal working machinery (Guillotines, Press-brakes, rolling mills)
4. Machining & fabricating skills (lathe, milling, drilling, burning, grinding, welding)
5. Forklift / MEWP licence
This role will involve you reporting to the Maintenance Manager. Duties to include:
1. Maintain all plant equipment to standards expected
2. Completion of preventative maintenance tasks
3. Fault find and carry out repairs
4. Involvement in projects like new installations and relocating of new and existing equipment
5. Ensure safe working practices are always adhered to
6. Record and document work completed using PC/Mobile based maintenance software
7. To occasionally work across multisite locations (local)
8. To be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team and follow procedures as required
9. Be dependable, trustworthy with an excellent time & attendance record
Salary/hours:
£30,000 - £38,000K basic - depending on qualifications and experience. Working days Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4pm and Friday 7.30am - 3pm.
