Salary Range: £49,764 - £56,724 per annum (depending on experience)

We are seeking a self-motivated and conscientious fire safety professional to lead our specialist Fire Engineering and Consultations Team (FECT). This team is responsible for advising on the adequacy of fire safety measures in a wide range of new-build and renovation projects across Hampshire & Isle of Wight, as well as assisting our Protection Delivery teams in undertaking fire safety audits in complex premises.
As FECT Manager you will:
* Manage and support a team of highly performing individuals
* Ensure building regulation consultations are completed within statutory timeframes
* Provide support and guidance to operational, enforcement, investigations, and fire safety colleagues on built environment and technical matters
* Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
* Seek to improve processes to benefit the consultations process and promote safety throughout Hampshire & Isle of Wight
* Represent the Fire Service at national level e.g., National Fire Chiefs Council, and at national events
* Maintain high professional standards of practice
* Maintain your own, and the team’s, personal and professional development
* Facilitate the sharing of relevant information with other areas of the organisation
The ideal candidate will have completed the Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design or be capable of achieving this within a year of being appointed to this role. Candidates qualified to at least Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent will be considered and, if successful, would be eligible for full on-the-job training.
Membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers will be an advantage, as will registration with the UK Engineering Council at EngTech grade or higher.
