The role - learning Mentor - Merton
Identifying and supporting students with EHCP plans and providing them with support and mentoring
Identifying and working with identified students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
Run interventions based on the needs of the students
Working closely with teachers and other members of the behavioural team in order to achieve the best results
The ability to deescalate challenging behaviour needs in a calm and proactive manner
Build a good repour with students
Plan and create resources

Upon becoming a Learning Mentor, the successful candidate will be joining the support team which provides support to students who have challenging behaviours or special educational needs. In order for a learning mentor to be effective, he or she must be able to start in the new academic year.
