This post is specifically for a Clinical Support Worker who will predominantly work with the Phlebotomy team provided by the Emergency Department.
The band 3 Clinical Support Worker role in the Emergency Department also extends to ensuring patient’s well being within the department, delivery of basic nursing care and using additional clinical skills such as undertaking of observations and some investigations such as ECGs in order to maintain safety and provide an enhanced and appropriate patient journey.

Applicants should hold NVQ Level 3 in healthcare as a minimum requirement experience working within an Emergency Department or other relevant experience is required.
Skills in a Health care assistant role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting the Department team in providing the highest possible standard of care for patients and their families/carer.
The post holder willundertake a range of tasks and duties as delegated by a registered nurse.

To Undertake venepuncture and cannulation as and when needed on patients under the direction of a registered nurse.
Undertaking basic observations and ECGSas required under the direction of a registered nurse
General housekeeping duties such as stocking of basic equipment within your role.
Provision of patient toileting needs, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained.
Carry out any movement and handling within the safe practice guidelines from your mandatory training and in relation to the patient's manual handling plan.
Obtaining specimens from patients for ward or laboratory testing.
Prepare patients for treatments, investigations or procedures including offering support, answering questions appropriate to own knowledge/experience and assisting in recovery.
