Operations Supervisor - Traffic Management Sector Scheme 12d M1,M2, M5, M6 – M3 desirable Onsite - Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm Overtime available on weekends (work from home) Job Overview To manage all depot and traffic management operations ensuring they are always run in a professional and efficient manner. Ensuring all operatives are briefed, understand and adhering to the correct RAMS, wearing correct PPE/Uniform and ensuring sites are maintained to a high standard. To complete all jobs/tasks assigned to the depot. Respond to and complete all emergency works assigned to the depot. Ensure sufficient labour resources available at all times, managing rotas and planned and unplanned absence. Ensure sufficient stock levels of equipment, cones & signage at the depot. To promote a robust Health & Safety culture and a professional ethos within the workforce. To promote a satisfactory experience for all clients and third parties alike to ensure repeat business. Problem solve and trouble shoot as and when required. Duties To assist the Depot Manager (DM) or National Operations Manager (NOM) to ensure all sites are correctly. If applicable deputise for DM or NOM in periods of absence planned such as holiday or unplanned such as sickness. To assist DM or NOM with daily planning. Assist the National Operations Manager to collate weekly performance/financial reports as required. Installed and maintained to a high standard, through audits, supervision, ad hoc observation of traffic. Ensure the daily planner is accurate and planned as far ahead as practical. Ensure the overall running of the depot is efficient and in line with health and safety guidelines. Ensure the depot remains compliant with customer KPI’s Close out any client queries in a prompt and professional manner. /Ensure the operation is managed as efficiently and economically as possible, managing spend on labour, purchases of equipment, consumable items and utilities. Ensure daily briefings and/or toolbox talks are given to all operatives and they are fully understood Manage all TM operatives, ensuring all RAMs and SOPs are understood and adhered to. Vision is completed and address any non-conformance to ensure DTM Prime KPI statistics are adhered to. Regular (minimum monthly) depot walk throughs ensuring housekeeping is to a high standard, increasing frequency where standards are below required expectations. To carry out a minimum of 1 site visit per week and 2 operative audits to ensure DTM Prime KPI statistics are adhered to. Ensure 24/7 call out service is always available via the Rota system Ensure all vehicles are loaded and unload vehicles as and when requested, adhering to all RAMS and SSOW’s Drive all Company vehicles in a professional and competent manner, adhering to the Highway Code and all road traffic regulations. You are driving a liveried Company vehicle which means your driving standards, behaviours and actions whilst driving affect the Company’s reputation. Audit job and task completion on vision including but not limited to risk assessment, vehicles checks, plant & equipment checks, recording of installs and deinstalls fully and concisely ensuring all information is captured as required (including photograph evidence and if required signatures) Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with Traffic Management’s TRA100 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Each individual task method is contained within the SOP. Raise all near misses immediately, documenting accurately and fully all incident details. Investigate all near misses Closeout any actions raised against the depot on the action tracker for monthly management meetings Ensure all operatives adhere to all Road Traffic Collision processes, reporting of, capturing information and debrief. Manage customer complaints. Produce and maintain accurate and clear records, as and when requested. To assist the operations team to actively monitor and promote health and safety, reporting, addressing and resolving any issues identified. Attend mandatory training courses as defined within the company training matrix. Keep up to date with legislation and record ‘Continued Professional Development’ (CPD). Adhere to Company policy on alcohol breathalyser limits and zero-tolerance to drug driving, do not drive or operate machinery under the influence of either. Experience Experience in supervising a large traffic management scheme. Experience in all aspects of 12D traffic management A good knowledge in all aspects of temporary traffic management covering sector scheme 12D (B desirable) Flexible/adaptable to cope with the variety of work and locations expected with the role. Able to work in reactive situations and fluctuating work volumes and depot resources. Proven knowledge and experience of installing and operating multi-phase temporary traffic signal, and ability to maintain lane closures Ability to lead by example in respect of best practice and high standard traffic management practices. Flexible/adaptable to cope with the variety of work and locations expected with the role. Able to work in emergency situations, ability to liaise with various emergency services and the pressures associated with Road Traffic Accidents
