Test & Qualification Engineer
Location: Plymouth - Minimum 3 days on-site work required.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Test & Qualification Engineer to join our Engineering team, providing support to the Test & Qualification team.
This role involves working with development projects during their development phase, ensuring products meet rigorous qualification and approval standards prior to production.
The successful candidate will be based at either our main site in Plymouth or our office in Bristol, with all internal testing conducted at the Plymouth site.
Key Responsibilities
* Assessing the impact of changes and deviations on products, defining necessary qualification activities
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
* Providing input to planning, estimation, and project management activities
* Supporting bids and proposals by resourcing and ensuring technical compliance
* Technical support for customer-focused presentations, teleconferences, and meetings
* Liaising with Production and test houses (internal/external) to book test slots
* Liaising with logistics to arrange kit delivery and collection at external test facilities for offsite testing
* Conducting product qualification testing (internal/external)
* Understanding customer requirements, generating qualification test plans, reports, and tracking compliance
* The role may involve travel to UK and foreign customer sites for technical meetings, trials, and qualification testing.
Requirements
* A minimum of a 2.1 Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or similar field
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Engineering role, specializing in sensor-related product design and development to military, aerospace, and commercial standards
* Proficiency in MS Office tools, with good knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Excellent organization and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and requests simultaneously
* Capacity to work collaboratively within a large team
* Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
