Job Description
The Role:
An opportunity has arisen with one of the UK’s leading contractors to join their team as a Geotechnical Engineer. This is an exciting opening for a driven individual to learn and develop as part of a growing team.
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will help drive the reputation of a company whose track record of developing innovative services, solutions, and equipment across a variety of sectors benefits customers and wider communities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Performing contaminated land assessments, making recommendations for remediation using your technical knowledge to inform best practice and provide guidance.
2. Assisting in co-ordinating phase 1 & phase 2 geo-environmental and geotechnical site investigations.
3. Liaising with clients to provide scheduling for laboratory testing exercises, logging samples such as soil and rock, and conducting risk assessments.
4. Working under technical leads for relevant project areas such as rail infrastructure, highways, and coal authority related frameworks.
5. Conducting on-site investigation work, analysis and production as well as checking of reports, measurement of KPI’s to ensure delivery is met to appropriate scale.
6. Working collaboratively both internally with engineers/technicians and externally with clients and associated parties to deliver quality reporting.
The ideal candidate:
* Relevant educational degree in Geology, Environmental Science or Civil Engineering is expected for the role.
* Experience in on-site management of ground investigation projects is a must for the role.
* Previous use of software such as Openground or Holbase would be advantageous.
* Ability to communicate effectively with various different parties such as management, other departments, and external entities.
* A full UK driving license is required.
