Senior Buyer
Offering Circa. £50,000 - £60,000 Basic Salary plus Bonus & Benefits (Hybrid)
Our client is an established FMCG business supplying a variety of products to the UK retail market. Due to continued growth, they are now recruiting a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team based at their Head Office in Leeds.
Senior Buyer - Purpose
1. Develop and implement buying strategies for fast-moving consumer products including grocery and confectionery.
2. Identify new suppliers throughout Europe. Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality etc. and determine the best choices.
3. Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate contracts that achieve the most favourable terms.
4. Identify opportunities for impulse buy product range expansion and promotion.
5. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
6. Ensure the consistency of the quality of the items purchased.
7. Keep abreast of changes in the retail industry and adjust strategies as necessary.
Senior Buyer - Candidates
1. Proven experience as a Retail Buyer, particularly in FMCG.
2. Food buying experience desirable but not essential.
3. Strong negotiation skills with sourcing from Europe and the Far East.
4. Excellent analytical and commercial planning abilities.
5. Strong supplier base and contract negotiation skills.
6. Exceptional organisational and leadership skills.
The Senior Buyer position is offering Circa. £50,000 - £60,000 Basic Salary plus Benefits including Performance / Company Bonus Scheme and 25 Days + Statutory. The position will be based on our clients HQ Office in Leeds with flexibility to work hybrid, 2 days homebased per week.
