Business Manager - Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics
Senior Buyer (Homeware, DIY & Gardening, Home Fragrance & Seasonal) - £40,000 + Commission
As a Senior Buyer, your primary responsibility will be to build on existing supplier relationships and source stock from new suppliers & manufacturers of national and international household brands. This will involve cold calling to solicit business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded individual who wants to drive their earning potential by forging long-term, commercial relationships and ensuring competitive pricing to drive revenue.
A background in products from gifting, furnishings, gardening, outdoor accessories, homeware, seasonal products, and DIY would be advantageous. However, the company values the individual and encourages you to seize the opportunity to grow in an empowering environment.
The Senior Buyer role takes on a more traditional approach of building new relationships with suppliers to secure supply. No one day will be the same!
* Inclusive of Bonus - Realistic first-year trading £10k Bonus. Expected OTE £70K in your 2nd year, but this is an uncapped bonus structure.
* Expenses.
* 28 days holiday inclusive of BH – 9-5 Mon-Thurs, Fri Finish at 4pm, free on-site parking.

Responsibilities:
* Directly reporting to the Owners, you'll be integral in growing the product offering and overall turnover.
* Cold calling will be a part of the role, sourcing new suppliers who have not interacted with the United Brands.
* Full responsibility for key accounts with suppliers from global supply chains, developing new and existing relationships.
* Interface with Senior Directors to Middle Management to secure products.
* Research and identify product opportunities across new supply routes.
* Attend domestic and international exhibitions and trade fairs.
* Drive relationships with manufacturers and suppliers of brand products.
* Be a commercial lead for the business.
Key Attributes and Commercial Mindset Needed:
* Effective communicator over the phone.
* Establish and maintain progressive relationships with suppliers.
* Fantastic communicator with strong interpersonal skills, confident in speaking to people at different seniority levels.
* Understanding of sales behavior and ability to consult with suppliers for competitive prices.
* Understanding of supplier operations to determine decision-makers and build successful relationships.
* Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure competitive prices and favorable terms.
* Driven individual with a will to succeed.
* No prior purchasing experience is required but is desirable.
* Experience with products from gifting, DIY, garden, homeware, and seasonal products is desirable.
