The Role
As a Health Visitor, you’ll specialise in promoting the health and well-being of individuals and families, particularly during the early stages of life. Your duties will include conducting home visits to assess and support the physical, emotional, and social needs of families with young children, providing guidance on child development, nutrition, and parenting skills, and assessing and addressing potential health and safety concerns within the home environment. Additionally, you’ll offer advice on contraception, sexual health, and family planning.
To be right for this role, you’ll need to be a passionate professional with the ability to work both solo and as part of the wider healthcare team. You’ll be able to show empathy and patience, and communicate effectively with both your team and patients. You need strong attention to detail, recognising when additional help or support may be needed.
