About the Role:
As a Youth Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, staff, and parents to support young people who may be struggling with their behaviour, social interactions, or emotional well-being. Your role will be vital in helping students build confidence, resilience, and positive attitudes towards learning and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide one-to-one and group mentoring sessions to support students' behaviour and emotional well-being.
2. Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create strategies that promote positive behaviour.
3. Act as a role model, helping students develop self-discipline, confidence, and motivation.
4. Support students in managing conflicts and emotions in a constructive way.
5. Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best support for each student.
6. Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive school environment.
What We’re Looking For
1. A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach.
2. Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or mentoring setting.
3. Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
4. The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
6. Relevant qualifications in youth work, counselling, psychology, or education (desirable but not essential).
