About Our Client:
Our client, a reputable legal organisation with offices in Leatherhead are seeking a dedicated and skilled Legal PA - Secretary to join their Private Client department.
As a Legal PA, you will provide invaluable support to fee earners and the Private Clients Deputy Head, ensuring the smooth operation of their work. We are looking for a proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and experience in private client law.
Role Responsibilities:
* Preparing correspondence and documents, including transcribing digital dictation
* Administering filing, including daily filing and the opening, closing, storage, and retrieval of client files.
* Arranging appointments, meetings, and maintaining up-to-date diaries for fee earners
* Providing support to other secretaries as required
* Assisting junior and temporary secretaries when needed
* Progressing client matters independently and in the absence of a fee earner
* Providing professional and friendly client care, both in person and on the telephone
* Undertaking specific training when required and taking responsibility for self-development
* Ensuring the confidentiality of all the firm's and clients' documentation and information
* Operating the firm's case management system
* Contributing to the efficiency of the department by suggesting improvements
* Preparing meeting rooms and providing refreshments if needed
Person Specification:
* Excellent touch-typing speed (essential)
* Substantial previous Legal Secretarial experience, specifically in a Private Client department (essential).
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* Advanced IT skills and excellent typing speed.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy towards clients in difficult circumstances.
* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Proactive approach to work with a positive attitude.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrate commitment to the organisation and an interest in legal work.
* Courteous and respectful when dealing with colleagues and clients.
* Willingness to take on additional tasks as required.
