As a Dual Fuel Engineer, your primary role will be to deliver an exceptional customer service experience while demonstrating a strong commitment to your ongoing technical and personal development. You will interact directly with customers, providing clear and accurate advice on the benefits of smart meters, ensuring they understand how they work and how they can improve their energy usage.
You will also play an active role in mentoring junior engineers, helping them to apply best practice technical standards following their formal training. Additionally, you'll be proactive in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance the safety and efficiency of your work. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to cover emergency situations or assist colleagues with challenging tasks.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and maintain smart meters for both gas and electricity.
* Perform communication testing for metering systems and loggers.
* Collaborate and liaise with the delivery support team to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
* Maintain high safety standards by following established working procedures and regulations.
* Manage and control stock, ensuring equipment and materials are available when needed.
Educational Qualifications/Memberships
* CMA1/CCN1, REGT1, MET1, MET2 (or equivalent relevant gas engineering experience).
* Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering (Dual Fuel/Power) or proof of Electrical Competence.
Skills and Knowledge
* Proven experience in Dual Fuel Smart Metering.
* Proactive in customer communication and pre-visit preparation.
* Strong technical skills, with an ability to achieve excellent First Fit levels.
* Knowledge of industry governance and compliance standards.
* A current, full UK driving licence is essential.
