Duties include supporting the collation and processing of FOI requests, maintaining records of requests and responding to requests as required. Other duties include assisting with tasks relating to data protection legislation. You should be capable of effective communication with people at all levels both externally and within the organisation, and have the ability to converse at ease with customers by providing advice in accurate spoken English. In addition you will have IT skills sufficient to use Microsoft Office packages in your day to day work, primarily Outlook, Work and Excel, and be able to work on your own initiative individually or as part of a team. You should have GCSE’s Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent vocational experience, along with literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to compose standard letters and compile basic statistical information and process invoices. Cannock Chase Council and Stafford Borough Council operate shared services. Information governance is based at our Cannock office, but some travel to our Stafford office may be required as and when needed.
