**14 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship **
We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard qualification within the duration of the placement.
Working as part of the Emergency Surgical Assessment team you would be integral to the care the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital provides to its patients. EAUS is a complex environment, treating patients with a wide range of conditions. You would be working as part of the front of house team, taking calls, directing patients, using your IT knowledge and excellent decision making skills to help the clinical team deliver our hospital’s PRIDE values. EAUS is an exceptionally busy and fast paced environment at all times.

• Liaise with all Wards/Departments/Staff as and when required, arranging tests and transfers as required.
• Maintain admission and discharge records accurately so that they are up to date and correspond with PAS.
• Maintain patient’s records, filing all documents in the correct order, including all investigation reports.
• Assist in the recording of patient’s property and valuables whilst they are inpatients on the ward.
• To book in new patients to the ward.
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must be:
• Aged 16+
• Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
• Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above
• Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeship
Qualifications and Skills Required:
• Good general standard of education
• 4 GCSE’s at Grade D/3 or above (or equivalent) subject to the job specification
• Good standard of literacy and numeracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good IT skills
