Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Barnstaple and Bideford area. These roles will involve working locally in the South-West area, providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services. To be successful in this role, you MUST have at least 1 year's experience in drawing blood and have proof of competency as a phlebotomist. This is an established programme that is looking for new candidates as it moves into its next phase. Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker Location: Barnstaple and Bideford Hours: 2-3 days per week, shift patterns vary Duration: Ongoing Essential Skills: Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months Proof of competency is desired but not essential A driver would be very beneficial due to the sites being mobile We are looking for experienced phlebotomists who also must have HCA (Healthcare Assistant) experience to work at least 2-3 days per week in a 7-day service. These will be long days, working between: 7:45 am – 6:15 pm on weekdays 8:45 am – 5:15 pm on Saturdays 10:00 am – 4:15 pm on Sundays This position is available immediately. Some of the areas we expect this role to cover in the coming months include Barnstaple and Bideford. These will be mobile sites, moving around every 4-5 weeks, so it would be very beneficial if you could drive and work at different sites. These positions are available now, with a pay rate of up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate), plus weekend enhancements. Main Responsibilities of this Phlebotomy Vacancy: Complete POCT cholesterol checks on all participants, including height, weight, and waist measurements, heart rate, and blood pressure checks, and input results into the system. Draw two blood samples for each participant, and label and store them correctly. Monitor the welfare of the participant throughout the appointment and escalate any issues to the nurse in charge as required. Offer signposting, advice, and guidance to participants as needed. Prepare boxes containing samples to be collected by the courier at the end of every shift.
