Work Environment: Graveyard Schedule 5pm - 5:25am 12hr Shifts (Alternative Work Schedule)
Job Scope: The Machine Operator is to be proficient in every aspect of properly operating a Palletizer or Bagger at the highest reasonable speed.
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed indoors near operating equipment, and loud noise, such as forklift horns and loose particles may be present. Work performed in this job requires the employee to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. As directed and trained, operate the Palletizer or Bagger machine.
2. Operate and perform routine adjustments and changeover functions. Specific examples would be adjustments for pallet or bag configuration.
3. Operate printer, layouts, and computer settings.
4. Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
5. Perform product stack configurations.
6. Maintain accurate, complete, and legible paperwork.
7. Conduct changeovers.
8. Keep supplies available to both bagger and palletizer at all times.
9. Supply bagging with needed packaging (bags), following FIFO rotation.
10. Troubleshoot minor operating problems.
11. Remove full pallets from palletizer and store them properly in the warehouse, damage-free.
12. Repair any damaged pallets or bags before the shift is over.
13. Communicate production status to oncoming shift personnel.
14. Maintain communication with maintenance personnel on major machine issues.
15. Keep workstation and surrounding area in a clean and safe manner at all times.
16. Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
17. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance with company policy.
18. Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
19. Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Shift Supervisor immediately.
20. Participate in all safety programs.
21. Able to operate a sit-down forklift.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
