The College of Richard Collyer in Horsham, ‘Collyer’s’, is one of the leading sixth form colleges in the country and the no.1 choice for A Levels in West Sussex.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic practitioner to lead our A Level Dance provision. This post is part-time 0.75 but could extend to full-time if the candidate was able to offer another subject the College required. In addition to teaching 13.5 hours of A Level Dance (across three sets), the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and managing extra-curricular dance. This includes our ‘New Ground’ Dance Company.
Qualifications: A good relevant degree together with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET).
Experience: Current or recent experience of teaching/delivering Dance A Level.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Dance A Level, including a confident command of the areas of study for Rambert and the independent contemporary dance scene. A methodical approach to IT and administrative tasks. An understanding and enthusiasm for dance and some industry experience desirable.
Personal Qualities: A reflective practitioner with excellent teamwork, organisation and communication skills.
Motivation and Expectations: A commitment to high standards, a drive to motivate, inspire and support students. Able to target recruitment of future students. An enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
All teaching staff are also personal tutors. Tutors monitor progress and offer support and guidance to some 25 students.
Salary Range: On the SFCA salary scale £32,178 (Point 1) to £49,725 (Point 9) + Responsibility Allowance of up to £2,184 depending on experience for Head of Subject.
