Jonathan Lee Recruitment is partnering with a Telford based manufacturing business looking to hire a PLC software engineer to join their Engineering Development team, in a role focused on delivering continuous improvement projects with their portfolio of bespoke in-house built systems.
The role would suit an engineer with a minimum of HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and PLC programming experience, excited by learning new techniques and technology to help deliver End-to-End Involvement, experiencing the full lifecycle from initial concept to final delivery. The key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Developing subject matter expertise in Siemens/Schneider PLCs.
2. Analysing system requirements and developing control system models that align with project specifications and functional needs.
3. Collaborating with business stakeholders, providing technical leadership and programming expertise in a professional manner to drive improvements and new developments supporting lead development engineers in continuous innovation and improvement.
4. Working in the role with a digital transformation mindset, driving enhancements and improvements from project discovery to implementation.
To be considered as a suitable candidate for the PLC Software Engineer position, we are looking for the following qualifications and experience:
1. HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
2. High level of mathematical and written skills.
3. Experience in PLC programming expertise and fault diagnosis experience - specifically Siemens & Schneider, although others considered.
4. Design for functional safety & SCADA experience would be beneficial.
