Project Monitoring Officer - South Shields - can work 20hpw - 37hpw - £20.31 per hour inside IR35
Role will require in-person meetings with delivery organisations across South Tyneside (travel expenses will be paid). Interviews to be held on 15th November 2024.
Overall Objectives of the Post:
Responsible for leading the monitoring and reporting the performance of a range of projects that are externally funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which are being delivered by South Tyneside Council and external partners.
You will also ensure effective service delivery by supporting and monitoring the grant programme and funding contracts. These programmes or projects could be either geographically focused, thematic, or contract-based.
Key Tasks:
* Regular collection and collation of project and programme output, outcome, and expenditure information.
* Completion of data returns to Government.
* Administering payments to project delivery organisations.
* Providing advice and support to delivery organisations to ensure satisfactory systems to monitor project and programme performance and finances are implemented.
* Liaising with delivery organisations to provide guidance to ensure compliance with UKSPF funding requirements.
* Coordinating regular reviews and audits of individual projects to support the effective development, progress, and evaluation of the programme and project portfolio.
* Liaising with the Council's finance, procurement, and legal teams to ensure the programme and all projects comply with financial and legal regulations and UKSPF funding rules.
* Negotiating with and resolving any conflict and variations to contracts between partners, delivery organisations, and other stakeholders regarding the delivery of projects and programmes.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Finance qualification e.g. AAT
* Very good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Experience of funding programmes
* Project monitoring and programme management experience
