Job Description
General Summary:
The Associate Director will be responsible for delivering commercial insights to inform strategic choices and commercialization decisions for the cell and gene therapy business unit (CGT BU). As an integral member of the International Commercial Team, the Associate Director will maintain a pulse on critical business questions to formulate and execute an insights plan (Primary & Secondary Market Research & Insight) to answer them.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Function as a key partner to Commercial teams and provide objective perspective and insights.
* Formulate a comprehensive insights generation plan to address a spectrum of business questions using the appropriate methodology.
* Independently design, execute via partners and external agencies and present primary and secondary market research that addresses key business questions.
* Function as a key partner in developing and executing insight generation plans.
* Work with the global team to ensure current summary of all the International insights supporting the CGT BU are included in the form of an Insights book.
* Accountable for developing the situation analysis for the International Brand Planning process.
* Maintain a strong understanding of Vertex Long Range Plans and provide assumptions that inform International strategic decision making.
* Serve as the primary point of contact within scope of role for consulting and advising on Market Research methodologies and best practices
Knowledge and Skills:
* Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Education and Experience:
* Proven experience in a similar role required, or equivalent combined education.
* Experience in Market Research standards (e.g. BHBIA, EPHMRA, etc).
* Extensive experience in bio-pharma marketing, market research and/or analytics, management consulting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
* In-depth knowledge in a variety of primary and secondary market research methodologies; substantial experience managing design and execution of primary and secondary market research projects.
* Deep understanding of the biopharma commercialization process; experience with go-to-market approaches and launch planning.
* Strong experience working with international brands and understanding insights from global markets.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – able to synthesize and distil complex information into a compelling narrative.
* Proactive orientation – able to anticipate issues, engage with stakeholders and plan accordingly.
* Demonstrated experience as a trusted advisor and thought partner to stakeholders.
* Comfortable with ambiguity; able to effectively structure problems and solution approaches.
