Graduate Technical Assistant Location: Craigavon Salary: £30k - £35k Job brief: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will support the Technical and Quality Assurance functions within our fast-paced department. Your primary goal will be to assist in ensuring that all products meet customer expectations and maintain food safety standards. Responsibilities: Assist the Technical Manager in maintaining the Quality Manual and systems to meet BRC standards. Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues. Assist in the supervision of QA and Hygiene staff. Support the Production Manager and Supervisors in ensuring that production activities meet required quality standards. Complete and maintain QA related paperwork accurately and on time. Help manage technical audits and ensure they are carried out effectively. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to drive quality improvements. Collect samples and support the analysis of microbiological results. Address day-to-day quality issues and assist in resolving any anomalies. Assist with the HACCP team, including updating risk assessments, hazard analysis, and product flows. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored. Help manage customer complaints in a timely and professional manner. Support Mass Balance and Traceability Exercises. Assist in the management of Raw Material suppliers and calibration schedules. Requirements: Clean UK/EU driving license. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a quality or technical role within the food industry, or a recent graduate with a relevant food-related degree and a placement year in a quality or technical role. Relevant qualification in food science or a related discipline (e.g., Degree or HNC/D). Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent IT skills and the ability to present information clearly and concisely. Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment. Excellent communication and positive interpersonal skills.
