The Health and Safety of yourself and others is your primary concern. You are required to operate at all times with utmost regard for yours and others safety. You are required to follow the company health and safety policy, site rules and regulations and to report all accidents, incidents or potential problems to your Manager.
We are seeking to recruit a reliable, hardworking Health & Safety and Compliance Officer, with a strong attention to detail, on a part-time basis.
Working with the management team across the 2 sites (in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk and Papworth, Cambridgeshire), the successful candidate will help to continue to drive the Health & Safety culture and development throughout the business. In addition, the role will involve assisting the company with its compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001, along with other compliance matters.
This role will suit an inquisitive, self-motivated, problem solver who enjoys identifying ways to improve processes and systems. You should be confident working with standards and regulations, and have the ability to respond to changes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support with all Health & Safety activities across the 2 sites.
2. Lead compliance activities across both sites.
3. Work with all areas of the business to maintain ISO and other external standards.
4. Further develop and maintain accurate Health & Safety records.
5. Conduct Risk assessments and audits.
6. Support with the development and implementation of H&S policies.
7. Investigate accidents and incidents.
8. Liaise/co-ordinate with external Compliance auditors as needed.
9. Oversee some fire safety aspects.
10. Perform regular safety inspections.
11. Generate detailed reports on safety performance.
12. Provide appropriate H&S training to all staff.
13. Provide appropriate Compliance training for relevant staff, as needed.
14. Make recommendations for improvements.
Essential Criteria:
1. You must own your own vehicle, due to the required travel between the sites, and hold a clean UK driving licence (all travel between the sites will be reimbursed).
2. You must have the ability to communicate and engage with all levels of personnel.
3. You must understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Risk Assessments (RAs).
4. Good computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
