Our client specializes in the distribution and formulation of specialty chemicals and ingredients across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food, personal care, and industrial applications. Operating globally, it connects suppliers with customers by offering tailored solutions, technical expertise, and market insights.
Background and Role
A leading distributor of specialty chemicals in Southeast Europe is looking to expand its Industrial Solutions Business Unit. They seek a seasoned Business Development Manager to support growth across diverse market sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical sales and application support to customers in the chemical industry, targeting industrial formulators.
* Identify and develop new business opportunities and customers to drive sustainable growth in key market segments.
* Maintain and grow existing customer relationships while securing long-term business commitments.
* Negotiate commercial terms, prepare offers, and coordinate sample deliveries.
* Independently prepare and calculate proposals and long-term agreements.
* Conduct regular customer visits and foster relationships with suppliers, including technical and commercial discussions.
* Perform market research to identify customer potentials, emerging trends, and new opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records of activities and regularly report to the Business Unit Manager via CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
Skills and Requirements
* University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
* Strong knowledge of chemicals, with expertise in surfactants, biocides, or water-soluble polymers as an advantage.
* A proven ability to independently build and manage a sales pipeline with a focus on impactful project closures.
* Background in chemical distribution is preferred.
* Motivated, flexible, and reliable with a strong drive for self-improvement.
* Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
* Based in Hungary, Czech Republic, or Austria, with a willingness to travel frequently (driver’s license required).
* Fluent in Hungarian and/or Czech/Slovak, with strong English proficiency.
