Bariatric & Weight Management Pathway Coordinator
An opportunity has arisen to join the Bariatric Team at Musgrove Park Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to take on the role of Bariatric and Weight Management Pathway Coordinator. This is an integral position developed to facilitate equality of access for all patients across the South-West, ensuring robust administration processes from entry into weight management service through to bariatric surgery.
The role includes but is not limited to creating and maintaining systems, databases and documents, dealing with enquiries from managers, staff and service users and running multiple MDT meetings.
Main duties of the job
* Be a main point of contact for the specialty, having full knowledge of specialty processes, or know where to resource help or to find answers.
* To develop, support and facilitate MDT meetings.
* Tracking patients through the entire pathway from referral to weight management through to bariatric surgery if appropriate.
* Provide effective communication between Clinicians, General Practitioners, multidisciplinary teams, patients, managers and all necessary internal and external contacts to achieve an excellent and smooth patient pathway. Enquiries contact can be via telephone, correspondence, email or face-to-face requiring a sensitive and patient manner. The post holder will require a high level of competence and confidence with a strict requirement of confidentiality.
* Assist clinical staff with audit, research, etc., providing information from databases or medical records.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. Must be able to communicate in English Language, both written and verbally appropriate to the post. RSA/OCR III WP/Typing or equivalent.
* ECDL or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous secretarial experience (minimum 3 years). Experience of working in a team/multidisciplinary environment. Experience of working in an administrative/coordination role. Experience of organising and coordinating meetings. Experience of working to deadlines and prioritising tasks. Audio typing/word processing. Good typing speed with excellent accuracy. Minute taking and transcribing.
* Experience of audit and data collection. Previous NHS experience.
Additional Criteria
* Demonstrate knowledge of office procedures and use of equipment, e.g., photocopier, printers. Knowledge of Hospital systems. Knowledge of virtual meeting platforms. Awareness of Data Protection issues. Evidence of a good standard of Literacy / English language skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritise. Ability to work to deadlines. Flexibility and ability to cover a variety of duties within the Admin Team. Demonstrate the use of initiative.
* Knowledge of medical terminology. Understanding of waiting times.
