Ashton Recruitment require an Activity, Leisure & Events Manager for our client based in Antrim.
Position: Activity, Leisure & Events Manager
Location: Antrim
Duration: Permanent
Rate of Pay: £35,000 -£38,000 * (depending on experience)
Duties include (but not limited to):
1. Responsible for ensuring the booking systems for Tree Top Adventure, Antrim & the events and activities programme is fully operational, priced in agreement with Head of Holiday Lets & Marketing
2. Ensuring that teams follow company cash handling policy, ensure all payments are processed and receipted through the till and all financial reconciliation/ refunds are processed
3. Ensure that the activity, events & leisure team meet realistic and achievable revenue and customer targets
4. Deliver a successful Seasonal Engaging Events & Activities Program on time and on budget
5. Develop and build upon Peak Seasonal Events-Easter, Halloween and Christmas
6. Recruit, Manage and Appraise the seasonal events, high ropes course and leisure teams required to deliver on activities, events and leisure programme
7. Deliver annual and periodic recruitment plan to ensure the correct number of instructors and contracts are in place to meet seasonal business demand.
8. Participate in the selection and appointment of staff when required in accordance with relevant employment law procedures.
9. Review individually at least annually the performance of immediately subordinate staff, providing guidance on personal development requirements and advise and initiate where appropriate, further training.
10. Delegate appropriate responsibility and authority to other staff as required consistent with effective decision making, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
11. Ensure that the Activity, Events & Leisure teams deliver a highly professional programme that exceeds our customer's expectations
12. Monitor customer experience and look for constant improvements in systems and services to improve the overall experience.
13. Make recommendations and implement periodic changes to this effect in agreement with Head of Holiday Lets & Marketing
14. Ensure that your team is complying with all health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
15. Responsible for health and safety of all children's aspects of playgrounds and event/ entertainment facilities across all Holiday Parks
16. Responsible for ensuring accidents and significant incidents and rescues (for Tree Top Adventure) are reported & actions and procedures are put in place to resolve issues
17. Maintain staff relationships and morale among all company staff.
18. Employees of the company are required to promote and support the vision and direction of the Board of Directors at all times.
19. At all times provide a customer focused service and to treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner.
20. Demonstrate their commitment by their regular attendance and the efficient completion of all tasks allocated to them.
21. Carry out their duties and responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety Statutory Regulations.
Essential Criteria
* At least 2 years or more experience in managing and delivering events, entertainments programme in a leisure setting (or similar customer focused setting).
* Experience of working at and having Duty Manager and/or site management responsibility and experience at a successful high ropes course (or comparable industry activity).
* Must like working outdoors and be confident working at height.
* Previous management experience and must be able to show the ability to lead, manage and motivate your team to deliver a plan
* Excellent and Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills enjoys working with others
* Excellent organisation and administrative skills
* Have the flexibility to work hours determined by the business from time- time- what will include working evenings and weekends
* An enthusiastic team player ready for a challenge
* IT Literate and experience in all Office suite applications
* Budget Management
* H&S / Risk assessment skills -Working Knowledge in Event Management Health and Safety and/or high ropes course activities
* Full driving license and own transport
Desirable
* Previous working experience in event/activity booking systems
* Emergency First Aid (to be obtained prior to start date)
* High energy levels with a positive approach and outlook
* Experience in recruitment, organising and delivering training
* Working knowledge of Event Health and Safety
