The starting salary for this role is £24,557.40 per annum based on a 21.6 hour working week. The full-time equivalent salary is £40,929 per annum.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Supervising Social Worker in the Supported Lodgings Team within Surrey's Fostering Service. The successful candidate will be part of a creative fostering service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, and restorative practice to ensure the best outcomes for our children.
This role is primarily within the Fostering Team based at Woodhatch Place, Reigate, but you will need to be prepared to travel countywide and/or further afield.

About the Role
The Supported Lodgings Team sits in the fostering service within Surrey Children's Services and comprises seven team members. We assess and supervise supported lodgings carers, staying put carers and Private Fostering Arrangements.
Our aim is to ensure that young people aged 16-25 are supported in family-style semi-independent accommodation to help them prepare for independent living. Surrey offers a comprehensive training package with a focus on career progression and developing skills and knowledge.
The primary focus of the role will be assessing and supervising supported lodgings carers, staying put carers and private fostering arrangements. Self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines, you will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of establishing and nurturing multi-agency relationships.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
* Experience of working with children and young people, and a comprehensive knowledge of legislation relating to Looked After Children and Care Proceedings
* An ability to work directly with the wider public, foster carers and young people, and be able to produce clear evidence-based assessments
* Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends, as the role includes attending events and home visits outside office hours
* You need to be a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality-based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle. Reasonable adjustments will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition.
