Join us at the world-leading CRUK Cambridge Institute We're a unique department of the University of Cambridge, core funded by Cancer Research UK's charitable activities, and we're eagerly searching for a new Research Associate to join the Narita Laboratory for a short period (7 months). Our lab is concerned with working on cellular stress response, with particular emphasis on cellular senescence. Senescent cells are not just arrested cells. They are actively engaging in shaping local tissue or even the systemic environment. As a mechanism of such cellular activities, we focus on gene regulation through high-order chromatin organisation. Phenotypically, we are interested in how senescent cells impact on immune response and tumorigenesis. The successful candidate will play a vital role working on a project which focuses on senescence single-cell atlas, and they should have a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline. They should also have considerable research experience with a sufficient breadth/depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Experience successfully conducting and publishing high-quality research is also required, and superb communication skills are a must. Previous experience in single-cell RNA-seq and mouse genetics is also critical. Please send applications in the following format: a CV with a publication record and the names and contact details of two academic referees. Informal enquiries may be made to Julie Downer ( Julie.Downercruk.cam.ac.uk ) Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 7 months in the first instance. Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check. Click the 'Apply' button below to register an account with our recruitment system (if you have not already) and apply online. Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD.
