The Role: Our London office is looking for an experienced CAD Technician to form a part of a growing civil engineering team. You will work in multidisciplinary projects; therefore, close with the other office disciplines of structural, infrastructure and bridge engineering as well as our geotechnical consultancy. As such, the nature and type of work will be varied. You will contribute to projects in various sectors (infrastructure, industrial, property) at different stages (concept design, detail design and construction). Whilst the majority of our work is UK-based, we are an international practice and often work in other geographies. Knowledge and experience of delivering work in a more global context would be welcome. We are looking for an individual with excellent drafting and strong organisational and communication skills, gained in either a multi-disciplinary or engineering consultancy environment, who now wants to enhance and diversify these skills within a growing organisation that will support their future development. The role will include a varied mix of responsibilities, including: Understanding the drafting standards that apply to the project Contributing to the design development; Production of 3D models and 2D CAD drawings; Working in conjunction with multi-disciplinary engineering teams; Coordination of the production of construction drawings; Ensuring design deliverables meet the required standards of accuracy and quality; Contribute to further developing CAD standards; About You: You will be a key member of the BG&E Engineering team, where you'll strengthen our skills and capabilities and provide support to our engineering and drafting teams. As a successful applicant, you’ll have: At least 5 years of relevant experience within an engineering consultancy or the construction industry; Extensive experience in civil engineering projects’ technical delivery (earthworks, highways, drainage, below-ground utility coordination); Proficient knowledge of 2D & 3D design software (AutoCAD, Civil3D); Experience with Autodesk Vehicle tracking. Ability to work accurately and flexibly and to integrate your work with other discipline areas; Ability to work under tight programmes; Ability to communicate fluently with other team members; High level of attention to detail. Experience working in BIM environments.
